History
The Portuguese Economic Journal (PEJ) was first published in 2002. The founding executive board was composed by Paulo Brito (ISEG of ULisboa), which was the chief-editor from 2002 to 2014, Pedro Pita Barros (Nova SBE), Rodolphe dos Santos Ferreira (U. Strasbourg), Pedro Portugal (Bank of Portugal & Nova SBE) and João Santos Silva (then at ISEG of ULisboa).
Previous Journals
PEJ is the descendant of a long line of economics journals published by ISEG of ULisboa, starting with the Revista do Instituto Superior do Comércio (1918 – 1931). It was later replaced by Economia e Finanças which ran from 1931 to 1973 under different subtitles, including Revista do Instituto Superior de Ciências Económicas e Financeiras from 1931 to 1933 and Anais do ISCEF from 1933 to 1972. In parallel, there was another journal in the post-WWII period (1948-1964) named Revista de Economia. Finally, there was Estudos de Economia from 1980 up to 2001.
